Counselors
The Applied English Center has 6 cross-cultural counselors. Students may make an appointment with a counselor to discuss either personal or academic concerns. Counselors can provide assistance with: explaining and answering questions about the AEC policy on level placement, test scores, and class attendance; explaining and answering questions about the cultural adjustment process; providing specific suggestions for improving study skills in this academic setting; discussing concerns about AEC courses or the university educational system in the general; and discussing general problems that might interfere with your ability to perform well in class (illness, finanaces, or roommate issues, for example.) To read answers to many common questions see the Counselors' Corner. |
|
| Making an Appointment - The counselors generally take appointments from 9:00 a.m. to noon and from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
