The
Applied English Center at the University of Kansas has welcomed
short-term program students from Kanagawa University in Japan
since 1991. These students
- study
English language and American culture,
- go
on weekend field trips,
- interact
with native-speaker conversation leaders,
- participate
in a short home stay, and
- make
a variety of connections on campus and in the community.
In
this four week program, students improve their language
skills and learn what it is like to live on an American
university campus and in a Midwestern community. This
cross-cultural experience has proved to be a life-enhancing
experience for hundreds of students. |
